Cherry Belle radish is a very popular, quick-growing variety. Its round, bright red fruit resembles a cherry at 2 cm (3 /4") in size. While red on the outside, the inside has crisp, white, solid flesh. This cool-weather crop even holds its mild flavor in the refrigerator.

Ramrod is a white bulbing Lisbon type scallion (or bunching onion) with stiff, erect leaves. Unlike Pacific 22, the bulb is small and forms late on this variety. Sow Ramrod scallion seeds successively through spring, summer and autumn. September-sown seedlings are very cold-hardy and overwinter well for early spring harvests. A high-performance, boldly flavoured scallion bred for English gardens, but perfect for the coast. Recommended by Alan Titchmarsh as a favourite scallion or "salad onion." To increase the blanched white lower portion, simply sow or transplant into a shallow trench and hill soil up around the stems as they grow.

Early fall-bearing raspberry is ready to harvest in August. Extremely productive, with firm and flavourful, medium-to-large fruit. A classic raspberry variety.

Large fruit with a purple colour with a light, sweet flavour when ripe, usually mid-July. Low suckering habit and very good adaptability. Good substitute for black raspberries when hardiness is a problem.

Zamia Palm, belonging to the genus Zamia, is an ancient and cycad-like plant with a unique crown of pinnate, feather-like fronds, and a stout, often subterranean trunk.

Light Requirement: Preferring bright, indirect light, place the Zamia Palm in a location with filtered sunlight. It can tolerate lower light conditions but benefits from exposure to moderate to bright light.

Watering Requirement: Allow the soil to partially dry between waterings, and water sparingly. Zamia Palms are drought-tolerant and sensitive to overwatering, so a well-draining soil mix is essential.

Mature Height: Reaching a mature height of 2 to 4 feet (60 to 120 cm), the Zamia Palm is a slow grower. Regularly remove any yellowing or damaged fronds to maintain a neat appearance and encourage new growth.

Tagetes patula. Red Cherry is an ornate, bi-coloured marigold. The yellow centres of these long-blooming flowers are framed by red petals that feature yellow edging. The foliage on the plants are full and grow 25cm (10") tall. Perfect for patio containers, beds and borders. Marigolds are great companion plants and act as a deterant for some pests.

Red Heart Philodendron is a charming variety with heart-shaped leaves featuring a deep green hue, adding a touch of classic beauty to indoor spaces.

Light Requirement: Preferably placed in bright, indirect light, this philodendron thrives in filtered sunlight or partial shade, with caution against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Watering Requirement: Maintain consistently moist soil, watering when the top inch feels slightly dry, while avoiding both excessive dryness and waterlogged conditions.

Mature Height: Typically reaching a height of 1 to 3 feet (30 to 90 cm), the Red Heart Philodendron exhibits a compact growth habit, making it suitable for various indoor settings. Regular pruning can help maintain its shape.

Red Iceberg lettuce forms a rosette of tasty, nutritious, and richly red outer leaves as it grows. Eventually a tightly-packed, pale green iceberg head forms at its centre, gilded with red markings on the outside. The interior is sweet and mild, with a very pleasant, crisp texture. The head holds well against the heat of summer with a delayed seed set. This was a standout in our seed trials and drew a lot of attention.
