Terms of service
We reserve the right to refuse any order or service at our discretion.
ORDERS PLACED FOR PICKUP
Order Cancellations: To avoid a 20% restocking fee, pick up orders must be canceled a min of 48 hours prior to the scheduled pick up day.
Rescheduling Pick up Orders:You are expected to pick up your order at the scheduled time. If you are unable to make the pick up, please email info@vdmgarden.ca at least 48 hours before your pick up time.
If you miss your pickup day without rescheduling, a 10% plant care fee will be charged. If your order is not rescheduled within 24 hours or is canceled last minute with no alternate plan, a 20% restocking fee will be charged.
Orders not picked up within one week of the selected date may be subject to cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel the order and apply a 20% restocking fee.
ORDERS PLACED FOR DELIVERY
Order Cancellations: To avoid a 20% restocking fee, delivery orders must be canceled a min of 48 hours prior to the scheduled delivery day. Credit card refunds/cancellations are subject to a 2.4% processing fee.
Rescheduling Delivery Orders: Delivery date changes must be approved by the online manager. Please email info@vdmgarden.ca with your request at least 48 hours before your original delivery date. van der Meer Garden Centre reserves the right to apply a plant care fee based on the value of your order and length of delivery delay. This fee must be paid before delivery date.
Christmas Deliveries:Â All Delivery rules apply as above noted.On the morning of your delivery, you will receive an email with an approximate delivery time. Please note this is an estimate (e.g., between 12 PM and 2 PM) and not a guaranteed time. If you have plants arriving you must be home to receive them. Christmas trees /Greenery items can be left outdoors. We do not deliver to your back yard and will only place trees where access is deemed reasonable by delivery driver. Please keep snow cleared prior to your delivery day. We do not bring trees indoors or place on your stand for you.
 If you do not answer the door to receive plants or perishable items at the scheduled time, your order will be returned to Ile des Chenes. You will have 24 hours to contact us to arrange for pick-up or pay a $20 fee for a second delivery attempt. If you do not contact us within 24 hours of the failed delivery, your order will be refunded minus a 20% restocking fee and delivery fee.
General Winter Delivery Information: Customers must coordinate directly with van der Meer Garden Centre delivery personnel for winter deliveries.
Please ensure your phone is accessible during the delivery time window listed on the homepage, and that your address is clearly visible from the street, with the doorway properly lit. Our drivers cannot guess your location.
In case of heavy snowfall, delivery may be delayed by 1-2 days, as the delivery vehicle requires cleared side roads. We will notify you promptly if there is any delay.
INSTALLATION SERVICE
Customers must provide at least 48 hours' notice for rescheduling requests. For rescheduling or additional date inquiries, please contact us at info@vdmgarden.ca.
The installation fee covers a standard installation with clear and accessible planting locations. If installers encounter obstacles such as old tree roots, power lines, underground utilities, or other obstructions, additional charges may apply. This fee does not include the removal of existing trees or shrubs.
A surcharge is an additional fee that covers the costs of set-up, travel, and packing. The surcharge is based on the size of the largest pot installed, as this determines staffing, vehicles, and soil amendments.
If an installation needs to be rescheduled, we will notify you.
LOYALTY CARDS
Points can be earned on any regular-priced items purchased in-store or online. Please note that sale items do not qualify for points. You can collect points through your loyalty account both in-store and online; however, they are only redeemable in-store.
How points work:
You’ll earn 20 points for every $1 spent before tax. Once you’ve collected 10,000 points, you can redeem them for $10 off your purchase. Points can be redeemed in increments of $10 (e.g., 10,000 points = $10, 20,000 = $20, etc.).
If points are missed, please contact us at info@vdmgarden.ca within 48 hours of purchase, and include a photo of your receipt and your customer account number (found under the barcode or in your account setup email).
It is the customer’s responsibility to present their loyalty card or account information at the cash desk before payment. Van der Meer Garden Centre is not responsible for any missed points.

Prices for our products are subject to change without notice.
