Returns & Refunds Policy

Returns/Refunds/Exchanges:

We do not accept returns on perishable items, including:

  • Bedding plants

  • House plants

  • Trees & shrubs

  • Perennials

We offer a 7-day return policy on select non-perishable gardening and landscape supplies that are unused, undamaged, and in original packaging.

To qualify for a return:

  • Items must be unused and in the same condition as purchased

  • Original packaging is required

  • A receipt or proof of purchase is required

Refund Options:

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

  • Credit card refunds are subject to a 2.4% processing fee.

  • Alternatively, you may choose to receive a store gift card with no fee.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are final sale:

  • Sale and clearance items

  • Gift cards

  • Landscape fabric

  • Landscape edging

  • Aggregates (soil, gravel, mulch, etc.)

  • Expired items purchased past their “use by” date

Refunds:Approved refunds will be processed and will appear on your statement within 5–7 business days, depending on your financial institution.


Tree & Shrub Warranty

We offer a 2-Year Warranty on all Zone 3 trees and shrubs purchased from us.

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not apply to:

  • Sale and clearance items

  • David Austin Roses

  • Specialty Zone 4+ trees and shrubs

  • Iseli specialty trees

  • Purchases made by contractors

Warranty Coverage

Year 1:

  • 100% coverage from the date of purchase until October 31 of the same year

Year 2:

  • One-time replacement at 50% off the regular price (current price)

  • Valid until October 31 of the second year

Warranty Conditions

  • Delivery costs are not included.

  • The warranty does not cover loss due to neglect, including:

    • Improper watering

    • Incorrect planting location

    • Wildlife or animal damage

  • Plants that have been dug up are not eligible.

  • Trees and shrubs you are requesting to be replaced under warranty, may be required to be assessed in-person.

  • Please contact us when you notice any signs causing concern with the tree or shrub. we are happy to provide guidance and support.

Making a Warranty Claim

  1. Keep your original receipt.

  2. Email photos of the plant to info@vdmgarden.ca:

    • One close-up of the plant

    • One showing the plant in its surrounding environment

    • If multiple plants are affected, photos of all plants are required

  3. Warranty claims must be approved by a manager before visiting in-store for a replacement.

Important Warranty Notes

  • Purchases made before 2025 are not covered under the new warranty

  • Purchases made between March 1 – May 25, 2025 fall under the previous warranty policy.
