The foliage turns a nice red-purple color in fall followed by red stems in winter, giving multi-season interest. It is tolerant of moist conditions, is suitable for rain gardens, and good on slopes to hold soil in place.

Prunus tenella 

Russian Almond is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with an upright spreading habit of growth. Its average texture blends into the landscape, but can be balanced by one or two finer or coarser trees or shrubs for an effective composition.

This is a high maintenance shrub that will require regular care and upkeep, and should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season's flowers.

A large evergreen tree with dense, ascending, lateral branches from the ground up that form a broad pyramidal to conical crown. It varies from the typical white spruce in its denser, more compact habit and slower growth rate. It has a shallow, fiberous, wide spreading root system. The thin bark is ashy gray / brown.

Brown cylindrical cones appear in late July and may persist on the tree into January. It is better adapted than the white spruce. 

Grows best in acidic, moist loams with full sun, but adapts to a variety of conditions including shade, drought, hot and cold. It is flood intolerant and sensitive to soil compaction.

This tree has a slow growth rate at less than 12" per year.

Large vase-shaped leaves form a beautiful mound of variegated foliage. Flower stems can reach between 5-6ft (150-180cm) and produce pale lavender blooms. 

For best growth results plant in moist well-drained soil and cut stems back after blooming to encourage regrowth.

A dense, upright mounded shrub with attractive bronze-tinged new growth in spring, that matures to a soft yellow-green and develops into a brilliant coppery orange in the fall. Panicles of rosy red flowers rise above the foliage in summer, creating a dynamic contrast. Excellent for brightening shrub borders. Good heat tolerance. Deciduous.

Lamium is one of the best choices for a tough and showy perennial ground cover.  This selection forms a spreading patch of small silver leaves with a narrow green edge. Clusters of purple flowers appear in spring, then continue off and on until fall.

Fairly tolerant of dry shade, once established. Trim back in late winter.

Stems will root into the ground where they touch, and any new plants that form can be easily moved in spring or fall.

The 'Blue Carpet' is a very popular rock garden plants as they form a low cushion of green leaves, that get smothered by flowers for several weeks. This variety blooms with various shades of rich blue and violet, over grey-green leaves.

To encourage a thick mounding habit, plants should be trimmed lightly immediately after blooming. Excellent choice for a rock garden in sun or part shade, growing over rock walls, or in alpine troughs and other containers.

Acer x pseudosieboldianum Ice Dragon^® is a welcome addition to the Jack Frost^® collection of hardy garden maples from Iseli Nursery.
