Brise d'Anjou, recently introduced to North American gardeners, this was a chance discovery at a nursery in France. A first-class foliage plant for using towards the front of the border, where its variegated green and creamy-white leaves look for all the world like some exotic fern. Dark green foliage is typical of jacobs ladder with, heads of violet-blue flowers rise above on short stems in early summer. This seems to prefer a partly shaded situation with protection from hot afternoon sun, particularly where summers are warm and humid. Also excellent in mixed containers.
