Pennisetum glaucum. With its cousins Purple Majesty and Jade Princess, Copper Prince Millet is the very picture of ornamental grass. The golden green foliage darkens at the points most exposed to the sun, becoming more mahogany in tone. About mid summer, the rush-like panicles begin to emerge, rising to a height of 90cm (36"). They become bushier and bushier and then form a layer of densely packed, dark brown seeds. This grass looks tantalizing in mass plantings or rows used to define garden edges. But it is decorative enough to warrant individual specimens in patio containers. It was a hit in our field trials.
Annual.
Cannas need consistent water and evenly moist soil. Water often, especially in extreme heat. Insufficient water will cause the leaves to tear or crack. In addition to needing lots of water, cannas are hungry plants, although they store some food in their rhizomes. Feed them in early spring and midsummer

Space saving and colourful!
A living fence of arborvitae is always nice, but some varieties take up a lot of yours (and your neighbour's) yard space. Polar Gold® arborvitae naturally grows with a narrow, space-saving habit, so you can achieve the same effect in a small area. New growth emerges a cheerful glowing gold color, which persists year-round.
Though arborvitae is not deer resistant, it's an outstanding native evergreen for those struggling with shaded conditions. Very hardy, too!

Butternut trees flourish in loamy, nutrient-dense soil, and thrive when placed in sheltered locations with minimal exposure to winter winds.
Butternut trees produce a substance named juglone which occurs naturally in all parts of the tree, especially in the leaves, nut hulls, and roots. Choose your planting site wisely as it can inhibit the growth of blueberry, apple tree, crabapple, cotoneaster, azalea, rhododendron, lilac, white birch, larch, mugo pine, red pine, white pine, Norway spruce, silver maple, potato, tomato, pepper and eggplant.

Black Cherry tomato seeds produce hardy, vigorous vines loaded with gorgeous purple to mahogany brown cherry tomatoes 2.5 cm (1") round. Enjoy prolific yields all season long! Rich, juicy cherry tomatoes with wonderfully complex, sweet flavour and firm texture. The little fruits of this variety look exotic and taste irresistibly delicious. A great snacking tomato, excellent in bruschetta.
Plants typically grow at least 150 cm (60") and require caging or staking for support. For best results, allow these cherry tomatoes to ripen on the vine, and harvest regularly. Fruits are ripe when they turn dark red/brown in colour and they pop readily off the stem with a roll of the fingers.
Indeterminate (vine)

C. maxima. Jumbo Pink Banana Squash is an heirloom that has been around for over 100 years. The smooth, salmon pink skin covers fibreless yellow-orange flesh that makes beautiful pies. Pick when less than 80cm (30") long for best eating quality. Left to grow, they can get as big as 33kg (70 lb) in weight and over 120cm (48") long. This squash has a vining habit, and plants get big, so provide lots of room. You'll be rewarded with two to three spectacular fruits per plant. These are terrific storage squash, and will last all winter if kept in a cool, dark place. Wash the squash with a diluted solution of water with a few drops of bleach after harvest. This will kill off any bacteria, and increase the shelf life of these special fruits.
