Large fruit with a purple colour with a light, sweet flavour when ripe, usually mid-July. Low suckering habit and very good adaptability. Good substitute for black raspberries when hardiness is a problem.

Raspberry Renegade is a delicious fruit tea. Fresh with bold raspberry flavour, this brew is amazing made hot and iced.

Ingredients: Apple bits, hibiscus, lemongrass, orange wedges, mallow blossoms, raspberries, citric acid, calcium ascorbate, vitamin C, natural flavouring.

Tagetes patula. Red Cherry is an ornate, bi-coloured marigold. The yellow centres of these long-blooming flowers are framed by red petals that feature yellow edging. The foliage on the plants are full and grow 25cm (10") tall. Perfect for patio containers, beds and borders. Marigolds are great companion plants and act as a deterant for some pests.

Red Iceberg lettuce forms a rosette of tasty, nutritious, and richly red outer leaves as it grows. Eventually a tightly-packed, pale green iceberg head forms at its centre, gilded with red markings on the outside. The interior is sweet and mild, with a very pleasant, crisp texture. The head holds well against the heat of summer with a delayed seed set. This was a standout in our seed trials and drew a lot of attention.

Matures in 50 days. (Open-pollinated seeds)

This grass has a remarkable tolerance for extreme climates and is not invasive. It displays soft, feathery green plumes during the summer, maturing into stiff, wheat-coloured spikes that last into winter.

It is generally used in large groupings towards the back of borders, but is also effective as a single plant that can be easily divided in spring. Prune down to the ground in March.

This very early blooming rhododendron is a confection of ruffled lavender flowers in the first few weeks of spring, each a rounded cluster atop a spray of leathery evergreen foliage. The Alpine Currant grows at a medium rate and, under ideal conditions, can be expected to live for approximately 30 years.

This shrub performs well in both full sun and full shade, and is very adaptable to both dry and moist locations.  Hardy and drought tolerant, it makes an ideal choice for a moisture-conserving landscape and is highly resistant of urban pollution.
