Empress Wu features huge dark green leaves with deep veins, measuring over 1½' wide and long. It forms a tall and wide clump with a strongly upright habit. Pale reddish-violet flowers bloom just above the foliage in early to midsummer. An exceptional focal point for your shade garden, it takes about 5 years to reach its mature size.

A very popular Juniper variety with a low spreading habit and attractive, soft green foliage. A compact version of Arcadia, which has proved hardy enough to withstand harsh winters (up to -40C).

Lily of the Valley is easy and adaptable, this will even grow well in tubs or mixed containers. A favourite for growing as a ground-cover in shady areas, be sure to Protect from afternoon sun. Plants form a spreading clump of large green leaves, bearing short spikes of fragrant white bells in late spring. 

Takes a year or two to establish, then spreads quickly. May go dormant in summer.

Tolerant of poor soils, even dry shade, but prefers a rich, moist soil.

Flashing Lights are easy-care perennials, ideal for the beginning gardener. Plants form a low, spreading mound of green and bronze leaves, studded with bright ruby-red flowers in late spring, and bloom on and off throughout the summer. Suitable in poor soils, and hot, sunny sites.

Excellent in tubs and mixed containers.

Trim back lightly after first flowering. Plants are easily divided in early spring or fall.

Cupids Dart (catananche) is a favorite of flower arrangers, the papery, bright blue dandelion-shaped blossoms are excellent for cutting, fresh or dried. An easy to grow perennial flower. These blue daisies look great in a flowerbed, and offer striking contrast to other flowers in the bed.

Once established, Cupid's Dart plants will grow for years with little attention. They are drought tolerant,  good in dried flower arrangements, and don't mind a little crowding.

Little Miss Sunshine is a dwarf goldenrod. This bright golden yellow bloomer makes an excellent border plant in a sunny area, as its spread is wider than it's height you can expect a dense mini hedge.

A Proven Winner Rose Mallow, Berry Awesome is a very robust perennial that fills a lot of space in the garden. Find a place in your landscape where it will not be crowded by other plants, because it will quickly out compete your other perennials for space within a year or two. 

Do not prune it to keep it smaller, as this will remove the flower buds. Tender Zone 4 perennial so it will need heavy mulch before frost!

Delphiniums are the stars of the early summer border. Plants form a low mound of deeply-cut green leaves, bearing tall spikes of satiny flowers. Removing faded spikes at the base will encourage repeat blooming in fall. 

Cut back hard to encourage fresh foliage. Use a high phosphorous fertilizer each year, in early spring. 

Hot, humid summers can bring on potential mildew.

Creeping types are low-growing with a vine-like habit and make a great ground cover or in between stepping stones

‘Bowl of Beauty’ peony features 8-inch anemone-shaped blooms with rose-pink petals and a creamy yellow center. We love plants with interesting architecture, and this selection of our native Eastern arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis) takes skinny to the max with its sword-like silhouette. Use it to make an exclamation point in garden designs, or fit it into a very narrow bed. Certain to be iconic plant in well-designed landscapes everywhere, from the Shire to Shreveport.

Oriental Poppies provide a cheerful display of huge, satiny flowers in late spring and early summer. Plants form a low clump of coarse, hairy leaves, and usually go dormant, disappearing completely by late summer. Because they disappear in summer, plant something beside Oriental Poppies that will get bushy later in the season, such as Rudbeckia, Russian Sage, or fall-flowering grasses. Flowers are good for cutting, picked just as the buds begin to open.

'Ruby Stella' Daylily shows a rich ruby coloured petal and a golden centre. Once established, this daylily is especially strong against drought and heat, and prefers drier conditions.

2021 Proven Winners National Hosta of the Year®

Extremely ruffled, cream coloured margins extend from the tip of each green leaf all the way down the petiole to the crown.  This ruffled margin is evident even in the juvenile stage of the plant before vernalization.  The leaves of this medium sized hosta are of excellent substance, making them slug resistant in the landscape. 

Mount Royal Plum produce a beautiful blue fruit with yellow flesh that is delicious. Fruit is great for eating fresh, cooking, baking, canning and freezing!

Lamium is one of the best choices for a tough and showy perennial ground cover.  This selection forms a spreading patch of small silver leaves with a narrow green edge. Clusters of white flowers appear in spring, then continue off and on until fall.

Fairly tolerant of dry shade, once established. Trim back in late winter.

Stems will root into the ground where they touch, and any new plants that form can be easily moved in spring or fall.
