The painted daisy grows as a perennial flowering plant. It closely resembles a classic daisy plant with fern-like leaves and a circle of petals surrounding a dense round centre. They thrive in six to eight hours of full sun and well-draining, moderately moist soil.

Mixed shades of red, pink, or white on ferny green foliage.

Extremely ruffled, cream coloured margins extend from the tip of each green leaf all the way down the petiole to the crown.  This ruffled margin is evident even in the juvenile stage of the plant before vernalization.  The leaves of this medium sized hosta are of excellent substance, making them slug resistant in the landscape. 

Rudbeckia laciniata 'Herbstsonne' is a substantial plant ideally suited for the rear of a perennial bed. It blooms in late summer, offering an extended display of vibrant yellow hues. Siberian Iris have masses of beautiful  flag-like flowers in late spring, which are most effective when planted in groupings. The flowers are excellent for cutting. Its sword-like leaves remain green in colour throughout the season.
