Winter & Summer Squash
These vigorous, spreading pumpkin plants provide big harvests of attractive 20 to 30-lb. (9- to 13-kg) fruit. Intense, bright orange pumpkins with defined ribs and string “handles” grow from 10-ft. (3-m) vines. Expect to harvest four or five from each plant. If you want to carve big pumpkins this Fall, plant Howden this Spring in full sun and be sure to keep the soil moist.

These small, deep orange pumpkins are fun and easy to grow, lasting up to a year if fully cured on the vine. Jack-Be-Little’s vines grow up to 10 ft. (3 m) long, producing as many as 10 pumpkins each. Gardeners have actually grown these pumpkins in large patio containers using strong trellises, training the vine upwards.

Primavera produces big harvests of spaghetti squash with a nice canary yellow skin. The fruit grows on a restricted vine that does not get as long as some varieties. Bake or boil, then use a fork to scrape the squash flesh into thin, spaghetti-like strands.

Butter is a space-saver in the garden, growing about 4 ft. (1.2 m) wide when planted in well-drained moist soil. Each of these delicious squash plants produces five butternut-shaped fruits. This winter squash keeps for months – a versatile veggie AND an excellent source of vitamin A.

This vine produces small 3-4kg (7-9 lb) squashes that have orange flesh and attractive, bluish grey skins. Baby Blue Hubbard squash seeds have outstanding keeping ability. This is an attractive, flavourful variety for gardeners and commercial growers alike.
Tip: For the best storage, allow the fruits to ripen fully on the vine, but be sure to harvest prior to frost. Wipe each fruit down with a weak bleach solution to kill off any bacteria or mould spores, and be sure not to nick the tough skins. Store in a cool, dark place and enjoy Hubbard squash all winter long.

Old Heirloom variety that has been in existence for hundreds of years. They are bright orange with a yellow thin rind with deep golden flesh. Hard, smooth, somewhat ribbed 15-25 lb/7-11 kg fruit. Good for halloween pumpkin craving!
