Strawberry Sundae^® Panicle Hydrangea is a perfect small hedge and wonderful in mass plantings with flowers that emerge creamy white in midsummer and change to pink as night temperatures cool down. This vine is part of the five-leaved ivy family. It has a habit of clinging and is a fast and hardy grower. It can work as a climber or as a ground cover. The foliage is smaller in size and with palm-shaped leaves. During Fall the leaves will become a burgundy red color with ornamental black berries that are toxic to humans.

Less vigorous than the virginia creeper.

Not your typical juniper!  Limeglow™ displays feathery foliage in electric chartreuse, a color that makes a striking contrast to other greens in the garden. Lamium is one of the best choices for a tough and showy perennial ground cover.  This selection forms a spreading patch of small silver leaves with a narrow green edge. Clusters of purple flowers appear in spring, then continue off and on until fall.

Fairly tolerant of dry shade, once established. Trim back in late winter.

Stems will root into the ground where they touch, and any new plants that form can be easily moved in spring or fall.

Easily grown in average, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in part shade to full shade. Best in medium moisture soils in part shade or to be planted in containers. Once established, it tolerates drought.

Spreads by stem fragments, rooting at the nodes, creeping stems, and seed. It can be somewhat invasive in optimum growing conditions.

If plants become leggy, shear back to 4-6 inches or to new fresh basal leaves in order to shape plants and to promote new foliage growth.

Delicate, green needles and short, slender branches give Larix decidua ‘Prag’ a soft, airy texture. Newer branches sweep gently upward and then spill down as they mature, giving ‘Prag’ a low, mounding form. Super cold hardy, this deciduous conifer is a great choice in some challenging garden conditions.

Larix gmelinii ‘Romberg Park’ is a superb dwarf, deciduous conifer that will develop tufts of short branches giving it appeal in all seasons. In early spring, it is one of the first to push growth, programmed from its cold native habitat and short growing season to take full advantage of warming temperatures. The softly textured, light green needles change to yellow in fall, and then drop to reveal the plant’s many short stems for winter interest. Plant in light, well-drained soil in a sunny garden.

Varied Directions Larch

This name could be an understatement! In fact, the vigorous, spreading habit of this Larix decidua ‘Varied Directions’ produces robust twigs that propel the branches up and out, in—that’s right—varied directions. Golden tan branches, covered with thick twigs, eventually arch down and cover the ground in a unique configuration for each plant.
