Sago Palm, or Cycas revoluta, is a unique and ancient plant resembling a palm tree, with a distinctive crown of feathery, dark green fronds and a sturdy, textured trunk.
Light Requirement: Preferring bright, indirect light, place the Sago Palm in a location with filtered sunlight. It can tolerate lower light conditions, but it thrives best with ample light.
Watering Requirement: Allow the soil to dry out between waterings, and water sparingly. Sago Palms are drought-tolerant and can suffer from overwatering, so ensure the soil is well-draining.
Mature Height: Reaching a mature height of 3 to 8 feet (90 to 240 cm), the Sago Palm is a slow grower. Regularly remove yellowing or damaged fronds to maintain a tidy appearance.
Wilsons BLOCK OUT pruning paint has real value in specific situations. For example, in protecting trees such as oaks and elms that are extremely susceptible to fungi carried by certain beetles. Or fruit trees that are vulnerable to bacterial infections. Not to mention for trees that have suffered from the actions of Mother Nature, equipment, kids or animals, leaving large areas debarked. These areas are so large that a proper callous can never be created, leaving them vulnerable to infestations and dry rot. In these cases, pruning paint can be extremely helpful in keeping the exposed wood from drying out and cracking.
Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Prefers evenly moist soils. Best flowering occurs in full sun, but plants tolerate part shade. Established plants grow well in a wide range of conditions and have good drought tolerance. Plants have excellent winter hardiness and perform best in cool northern summer climates. Dense, spreading shrub with an abundance of orange bi coloured blooms throughout The summer. The contrasting bloom/foliage makes it an excellent foundation and border shrub. Pruning should take place early spring before they leaf out.
